Social Activities

Firesides: Firesides have historically been a structured gathering of new Rotarians and spouses to learn about Rotary and their new club. Our club, however, finds anything an excuse to have a party, so our firesides have evolved to become club get-togethers with much socializing and a little structured learning.

Fellowship/Socials/Pub Nights: These are just another excuse to get together, whenever someone decides it is time to have fun.

Special Gatherings / Events: From time to time, club members will take the initiative to coordinate gatherings and events, ranging from the Shaw Festival, Stratford Festival, Casino trip, Wine Tour, Museum Tour, etc.

Christmas Party: This is the most formal function of the year for club members and spouses or significant others, including a dinner with some light entertainment and dancing.

Wind-up BBQ: This is an informal meeting of the club members and spouses or significant others at a members home at the end of each Rotary year (in early summer). After finger foods, fine beverages, good conversation and a great dinner, the outgoing President brings order to the gathering and gives a "year-in-review" speech. The outgoing President then exchanges pins with the new President. Usually we recognize a Paul Harris fellow and/or Rotarian of the Year at some point in the evening. The indulgences and merriment will often continue until the wee hours of the morning.

Friends, Friends and more Friends: Many strong friendships have been forged through association with Rotary. You do not need an excuse to get together with friends, so enjoy each other!
