On Saturday October 20th, 2012, the Cambridge Winter Hawks and the Cambridge Rotary Clubs hosted Polio Awareness night.  This hockey game gave the Cambridge Rotary Clubs an opportunity to reach their message to the Cambridge Winter Hawks fans, about World Polio Day. Rotarians were also on hand to provide assistance in how to make a donation, and to promote the Purple Pinkie Project. The significance of the “Purple Pinkie Project” is that when children are vaccinated for polio in affected countries, their pinkies are dyed purple to show they’ve been vaccinated and prevent an accidental double dose.
