OPENING CEREMONIES
The Bulletin editor for the day was not in sight, I quickly scrambled for paper and pen and attempted to take notes. President Laureen called the meeting to order. Paul Witmer led the singing of O Canada and Peter Ashenhurst read the invocation. We were all invited to sit down to our noon meal, 4 to a table and physically distanced.

TABLE TALK
If you sit quietly at the table you can hear some very interesting information. Our very own Larry Olney visited Australia and discovered that they had eliminated the penny. He thought that was an excellent idea especially for restaurants like his A and W. Larry later attended a meeting with his MP and insisted that we should do the same thing in Canada. After letting his opinion known a few more times as only Larry could, the change was finally made in Canada.

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT

Our Sgt-At-Arms for today was Peter Ashenhurst, he announced that 13 members were present. This was a 59% attendance. There were no makeups and no visiting Rotarians. Val Saturno was the only guest and he was also our Guest Speaker for the day. Hopefully over the next few weeks more of our members will be joining us.

HAPPY-TOONIES

HAPPY TOONIES (cashless)

Larry Olney had a cruise booked for December, he called the cruise line and discovered that the cruise has been cancelled and they offered to return all his money. He and Anita are both turning 75 this year, they were planning to celebrate on October 24 this year but unfortunately this celebration has been postponed to next year.

Paul Witmer and his wife Mary spent some very enjoyable time at Sean's Cottage.

Sean Carragher was happy to have Paul and his wife visit the cottage, Paul exhibited his talent for cutting down trees.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pres. Laureen had a slight change in the meeting format, we had our announcements at the start of the meeting.
Gerry started of by introducing the budget for the year 2020/2021. The budget was sent out by email and hopefully read by all. There were no questions Gerry moved a motion to accept the budget as sent out, it was seconded by Peter Ashenhurst and unanimously passed.

Paul Witmer announced the club celebrations for September. As stated last week, Fred and Charlene Schiedel celebrated their wedding anniversary on Sept 01 and Doug Cameron's birthday was on Sept 05.

A reminder that the car rally will be pushed out to spring 2021 to give us more time to prepare.

Check your email, Gerry has sent out invoices and he will gladly receive your money.

GUEST SPEAKER
Gerry introduced the Guest Speaker for today. Val Saturno was today's speaker..

In early 2016, Val Saturno lost his son Ryan to a soft tissue cancer. Ryan was just 26, a fund was created shortly after in his memory by his family and close friends in an effort to help alleviate the financial and emotional strain on families that are going through a similar journey.

They have formed an organization called WE FUND CARE, which raises funds by organizing an annual golf tournament and other fundraising events WE FUND CARE also accepts donations.from corporations, organizations and private citizens.

In 2017 they approached Grand River Hospital with the idea of funding an update to one of their frequently used visitor lounges within their pediatric care wing. This project was able to modernize and re-design this visitor lounge for any families who have their child admitted to the hospital. In 2016 they were also able to sponsor a room within the Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton.
They have also helped over 80 families since 2016.
WE FUND CARE is also a registered charity and can provide tax receipts.
