OPENING CEREMONIES
Our illustrious Gerry Menezes filled in for  President Ken and  opened the meeting  to the official start time at 12:15 pm.
We did not sing O'Canada due to Covid-19 protocols at GCC . However  one of our members suggested that we hum Oh Canada
in lieu of singing . It sounded not bad and could improve with practice I'm sure .
Peter  provided the Invocation. Afterwards Jerry  toasted the Queen, and Canada.

For our table, it included Jerry Menezes, Peter Ashenhurst, Allan Fox and Paul Goetz. We talked about a number of topics.

We discussed past Rotary Conferences we had attended - Peter having attended alot more then of rest of us.

We discussed the upcoming election much to our distaste  that it was even happening at all . Trudeau may end up with
fewer seats then he started with.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sean announced that he had been in contact with Delco meats and they finally advised it would be possible to get hams
this year . However the cost will be higher and so will affect our selling price .
We will be discussing whether we should order fewer hams as some business will have been affected re Covid
and not have the money to spend as in the past .
Doug is to check on the cost of cartons for the hams as well.

Sean also mentioned the District Governor’s Cambridge Cluster Celebration on Thursday September 9th, starting at 6 pm, at the Galt Country Club. You all received a link to register for the event, sent to you on August 15th at approx. 11 am, from Jackie Langlois via the District ClubRunner. If you have lost the link you can still register by going to the District web site and registering there, or by clicking here: Register Online

Gerry quoted this Call to Action - each member  bring one guest to one of  our of meetings .
