ANNOUNCEMENTS
Laureen had a President's meeting last week . They discussed the new bonding of Rotary and Toastmasters . They are planning a joint zoom meeting for sometime in June .

The car rally ad in the Cambridge Times brought 10 emails , requesting tickets for the event .

Dave Thomas filled us in on Bingo and Cambridge Gaming results . Revenue from Bingo is UP , even with the absence of in person participation at the bingo hall for all of 2020 , compared to 2019 ! We have received $ 62,613.74 since 2013 from the Cambridge Bingo Centre .
We MUST provide examples of where we spend our allocated money on SOCIAL MEDIA AND OUR WEBSITE so we can continue to receive these funds monthly ! The funds must be donated to a registered charity . We recently gave $ 2500.00 to Adults in Motion . Also the CMH Foundation . The allocations committee must dig up some pictures to post on the website and bulletin ASAP .

Below are the announcement from two weeks ago:

Our windup barbecue will now be held earlier on June 16, more info to follow (due to a conflict with the District Turn-over event).

The Virtual District Conference is on May 29. The theme this year is "Take care of Self, Each Other and the Planet" Registration is now open and this year they have arranged some very dynamic speakers, including Jennifer Jones, the incoming RI President. Jennifer Jones is a member of the Windsor Roseland Ontario Rotary Club.

The District Change over Awards is on June 23rd.
GUEST SPEAKER
Peter introduced the guest speaker today. Cynthia Ayers , a member of the Toastmasters Club .

Her topic for today was :        PATIENCE + PASSION = POWER

This equation provides us all a purpose in life .

We must all master patience in life .

Cynthia has been a curling coach for many years .  She had a student who wasn't so successful at picking up the sport . She was very persistent with John , and very slowly he improved . Most people would have given up on the sport . His PASSION for the sport grew . He wanted to try out for a competitive team  . Cynthia was not sure if he was good enough  , but he made the team . In time ,  with PATIENCE and PASSION , he became the coach of a University Varsity curling team  !

Cynthia has a PASSION for her children ,  aged from 16 thru 46years old .
She has dealt with many obstacles ... paper routes , broken relationships , chasing kids , competitive sports , alcoholic spouses , family conflicts , and bankruptcy .

All along she encouraged her kids to succeed  .... PASSION drives you , and PATIENCE is critical to succeed . This creates POWER , to achieve your PURPOSE in life .

After losing her business in 2008 , Cynthia regained her CONFIDENCE by joining Toastmasters .

This created a tremendous boost in her confidence , and she has never looked back .

We must all overcome negativity , pick something POSITIVE , anything ... birdwatching etc . Lift yourself up , especially during this time of COVID .

Interact with people ,  send a email to an old friend , to check on them .

thank-you Cynthia  , for a very inspirational  talk  !
