OPENING CEREMONIES

Mike was our substitute host for today's zoom meeting in President Ken's absence.

We are hoping that the next meeting (August 11th) will be at Galt Country Club, though this has not been confirmed.

TABLE TALK

Our zoom talk took place during our happy toonies section.

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT

We had 10 Rotarians present for today's zoom meeting.

HAPPY-TOONIES

Fred - had a great time motorcycling up to Grand Valley and Hockley Valley. Fred also took on a new adventure ... using a chain saw that doesn't burn a fossil fuel.

Stephen - celebrated a birthday in August. He was also happy (?) to have another driver in the house.

- On July 20 Stephen and Corine celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Peter - Peter is expecting .... a new great grand child.

Doug - Doug and family are heading to Calgary and The Rockies for a week of hiking and relaxing.

Mike is really happy to have finished a 5 day marathon of moving to their new abode. The adventure has included purging and packing and moving things into to storage.

Al Fox recently returned from the U.S. ... no quarantining but lots of covid tests.

Laureen had to cancel her bike trip to Fort Francis. But she was able to drive up to Kincardine (arguably a much easier drive) to visit friends.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

- Please note that all members need to pay their GCC membership fees ($150) before our meeting back at the club (which may be this Wednesday Aug 11). Check your account online if you are not sure.

We are not yet needed to volunteer in person .

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS SCHEDULE

The Sgt.‐At‐Arms (SAA) shall mark the attendance sheet, input Guest Names, Visiting Rotarians and Make‐ups submitted by club members, as well as calculate the meeting percentage. You will also give the invocation when requested by the President. At the end of the meeting make sure the Secretary has the “Secretary’s Copy”.

In addition, the SAA shall also fill in the attendance details on the “Bulletin Editor’s Copy” and make sure the editor receives it by the end of the meeting.

The person who is responsible for any Ticket sales shall enter the cash details on the “Treasurer’s Copy”. They shall also collect the Happy Toonies and enter that information on the same sheet. At the end of the meeting they shall give the treasurer the tally sheet along with the cash in an envelope. There is a supply of banker’s envelopes in the tote box.
