TABLE TALK
Laureen's daughter is skiing in Minesota now . She has been in the Yukon recently . The skiing is very competitive now . All the athletes are getting ready for the next winter olympics .
Laureen needs extra snowmobile lessons with Sean . Last year she crashed into the cottage while she was doing her training with Sean ... oops .
 
 
SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT

Sgt at Arms Peter Ashenhurst  reported that 18 members of 22 were present today, this gave us a 77 % attendance.

Jim Robertson had a guest , Brad Way .

Dave Mitten  and Dick Spencer were in attendance . Larry O brought his wife Anita , as a guest of the club .

Dave Kinder brought his wife Julie . 

 

HAPPY-TOONIES
Paul Witmer was happy for some reason today . He ended up with spare change in his pocket.
Ken D was happy for his multiple Christmas celebrations to date. in Lake Louise and BC .He also had fun skiing at Whistler . 
Peter A . is happy his wife is back home . Also he is happy we have a couple weeks off .
Dick Spencer is happy to be back at Rotary.
Larry is happy Sean did such a great job overseeing Ham , Cake , and cookie sales this year . Larry and Anita are back to Tuscon Arizona December 30th .
Mike is happy to visit his eldest son , then he is off to Disney to see his son Evan , and the new Star Wars Movie .
Sean is happy for the successful Ham Cake  and Cookie sales this year , We sold 678 hams .In 65 minutes we boxed all the hams ! Three tins of cookies are left.
We will have about 8 K of profit after all is said and done . This year cakes were sold at $ 15.00. Our cost is $ 13.50 per cake. The price should increase to $ 17.00 per cake for next year . We have $12.50  profit per ham when sold for $ 45.00 . We sold 300 tins of cookies . 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
 
We are all invited to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital open house on Saturday January 11th from noon till 5:00 pm .
Laureen announced that Jerry will be the President elect, after Laureen's second year as President , 2020-21 .
Please put your name forward to Laureen if you want to be part of next year's board of directors.
We are NOT participating in rib fest for 2020. .Revenue was only $ 17 K.
We are taking a year off . 
IMPACT is potentially taking over the management of ribfest . There are too many unanswered questions regarding this proposal . They want to charge $ 28 K for their services .
We will do more volunteer work in the community instead .
Larry suggested our club donates to the Cambridge Memorial Foundation ( i.e. hospital )
50 K PAYS FOR THE COST OF A NEW PRIVATE ROOM IN THE NEW WING .
25 K PAYS FOR THE COST OF A RENOVATED ROOM IN THE OLD WING .
There will be appropriate signage for this donation .

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS SCHEDULE

The Sgt.‐At‐Arms (SAA) shall mark the attendance sheet, input Guest Names, Visiting Rotarians and Make‐ups submitted by club members, as well as calculate the meeting percentage. You will also give the invocation when requested by the President. At the end of the meeting make sure the Secretary has the “Secretary’s Copy”.


In addition, the SAA shall also fill in the attendance details on the “Bulletin Editor’s Copy” and make sure the editor receives it by the end of the meeting.

The person who is responsible for any Ticket sales shall enter the cash details on the “Treasurer’s Copy”. They shall also collect the Happy Toonies and enter that information on the same sheet. At the end of the meeting they shall give the treasurer the tally sheet along with the cash in an envelope. There is a supply of banker’s envelopes in the tote box.
