Jake Jennings introduced the guest speaker for today , Shelly Murphy , the Executive Director of "Adults in Motion " ( A.I. M. ) AIM provides in person programs , support , services and virtual programming for young adults with disabilities , and their families . Shelly would also like to thank our club , for our generous donation to her non-profit organization , established in 2009. There are 3 locations . The Cambridge location is in a space at Avenue Road Baptist Church . AIM assists young adults to help each other , to be leaders , and to be useful in life , by encouraging growth , by providing community based programs , enhancing life experiences , building friendships , providing meaningful activities , creating real opportunities , increasing skill development , and inspiring inclusion . The ratio of care providers to participants is 1 to 5 . Due to COVID , many changes to programming were required . The use of " buddy sticks " - six foot long poles with handles on each end , plexiglass partitions , 6 foot distancing , air purifiers , masks and shields , stickers and signs , and COVID screening . Many of the programs are still in person activities . They are also using phone calls and face time to keep connected , as well as fresh air visits . AIM provides summer camps , and 10 virtual classes per day . COVID has increased staffing needs , and caused reduced revenue . Some participants pay for the programming . Others may receive passport funding from the government , which can range between $ 5K , and $ 30K . Others may require donations through charity , to participate .
