TABLE TALK

I had pleasure sitting with President Laureen and Larry Olney and Don Daggett.

We covered many topics - Laureen's daughter was heading to Calgary for winter training for downhill skiing also
heading to Vancouver and the Yukon - straight covid rules are being practiced such as taking ski doo rides
up to the top of  hills instead of using the ski lifts .

Don dropped his phone twice on the way into our Rotary gathering his phone protector did the trick no damage .

Larry said he was heading to Arizona in a week's time.

We also talked about traveling and soon hope to see the day again when things will resume .

ANNOUNCEMENTS

President Laureen announced that Mike Jennings had his appendix removed - it wasn't the crab cakes after all .
Good better soon Mike. Please send him an email for quick recovery .

Laureen also announced the following .

The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region had to pivot its annual fundraising plans due to the pandemic.

Depsite the changes, the Halloween Fun Run was still a whopping success the organization and participants raised $43,000 through the virtual event, which took place on October 24.
The money will go directly towards supporting local sexual violence survivors, as well as other services offered by the centre.

Laureen also will be emailing the members updates on the International  Rotary Project Wash program that we are involved with a Toronto Rotary club.

Langs is doing  a fund raiser by selling gift cards - please support their cause - go to their website for further information.

Larry went on the website for the Chase the Ace - that the Rotary of Kitchener Conestoga is promoting .

He feels this is the way to go online buying of the tickets as opposed to the manual option of paper tickets re Covid.

More to follow on this fundraiser.

Gerry M .announced  that he is attempting to use the Quick book accounting system and had contacted our member Greg Rahn

if he would be able to assist him . He was happy to do so .
