TABLE TALK
- Dean was discussing the ground water issues in the Mary Hill area with respect to the debate about aggregate mining in the area. I think we should schedule Dean as a speaker as this was an interesting discussion that I'm sure, many of us know little about.
- Fred put in a plug for Mary Hill as a destination for ice cream.

GUEST SPEAKER
Devon Hogue, working for the City of Cambridge in the department of Economic Development, provided a presentation on the film industry in Cambridge.

- Cambridge is the 2nd fastest growing region in Canada
- In 2019 there was a 79% increase in inquiries about filming in Cambridge.
- In 2019 there was a 10% increase in filming (films, independent films, streaming programs).
- 2020 was heading toward being the best ever for film activity in Cambridge until the pandemic hit.
- Why Cambridge?  Because - lots of natural beauty and a supply of heritage assets (Galt); 3 bridges in close proximity over the Grand River making street closures easier; close to Toronto; supportive leadership; supportive community.
- Some of the projects that have been filmed here include: The Queen's Gambit, The Handmaid's Tale, Self Made, and  Designated Survivor.

The city has asked residence to keep their eye open to good locations for shoots. Take and picture and post to #capturecambridge! .
