OPENING CEREMONIES

Laureen is dealing with a leaky roof at her store , and the lack of A/C in her new home .
 
SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT
We had 12 members on Zoom today, no makeups and no guest speaker. 
HAPPY-TOONIES
Mike Jennings is hopeful the Habs will do better on the ice . His son Alex is getting married on July 9th . The newlyweds are off to YVR , then return here for a celebration  .
 
Larry is on new prostate meds since May 1st . PSA numbers are going down  . Great news !
 
Paul announced his retirement from Rotary after 30 years  . He will attend the changeover at Laureen's and Sean's . He promises to visit us ,when in person meetings return .Thanks for all the great service Paul !
 
Doug's oldest daughter , Rebecca graduated from Laurier last week . Doug also had a Wedding anniversary last week .
 
Al played pickle ball and loved it . He is officially a senior citizen , with this sport under his belt . He joins Mike and his Mustang friends from Florida  / Nova Scotia, who also are big fans of pickle ball .
 
Fred got the fuel gage on his boat fixed , and a new ignition switch , at the cottage last week . He no longer will run out of gas on Lake Joe !
Fred's step mother's sister passed away  . She was in her 90's , and had a massive stroke . Sorry for the loss .
 
 
 
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
There was a board meeting June 29th . There will be a list of all donations our club made over the last Rotary year , sent out to all members .
 
The car rally raised $ 9000.00 from sponsors , and $ 2350.00 from tickets sales . Approximately $ 10600.00 was cleared from the event , after expenses . We all decided to keep the money in the bank , and later decide where it goes . 
 
Gerry reviewed the club's finances . We had only two fundraisers this year . Bingo , which raised an easy $10,823.00 , ( thanks Dave Thomas ! ) , and the car rally , which raised $10,600.00
 
The club has dispersed $10,000.00 to the International committee , and $ 5000.00 to CMH .
 
Bingo may begin in person in September  .
 
The wind up BBQ is at Laureen's on  Wednesday July 21st . Cocktails at 5:00pm , with a food truck dinner to follow at 6:30pm . Gourmet grill cheese sandwiches and soup  . Larry will organize the salad and dessert selection form the membership . Please contact Laureen if you plan to attend 
 
Mike asked the club if we should pass on our golfer list to Preston Hespeler , for their golf tournament. The club decided to keep our list private . If members would like to participate , they can form their own foursomes.
 
We may have a " Nine and Dine " next spring , as a golf fund raising event .
 
Chase the Ace , is still being worked out with the other Rotary clubs , and may launch in August .
 
Ken thanked President Laureen for her great job as President for the last two very challenging years !
 
Laureen in turn thanked the membership for all their hard work . She mastered her fear of public speaking , over the last two years .
 
 
From last weeks announcements :
 
Ribfest - August 7th. Rotary Sunrise is looking for volunteers and shifts will only be 2 hours.  It is a one day event and will run from 10am to 7pm. 
 
 
ToastMasters/Rotary Open house Meeting is scheduled for July 22 @7:15pm by zoom. Pres Laureen will be sending a link about the meeting, you will need to purchase a ticket but it is free. We will need a representative to speak about Rotary for 5-7 minutes and a toastmaster coach will advise on how you did (nicely :-).
 
Cluster Meeting (consisting of all 3 Rotary Clubs) - September 9th hopefully at the Galt Country Club, if we are unable to meet at the Club it will be on Zoom. We needed 2 members to sit on a planning committee, Sean and Pres. Laureen will represent our club. 
 
 Preston Hespeler golf tournament is scheduled for Oct 4th at Whistle Bear Golf Cub.

IF YOU CANNOT MAKE YOUR DATE, PLEASE FIND YOUR OWN REPLACEMENT.  TO BE SURE OF YOUR SCHEDULE, CONTACT YOUR PARTNER THE DAY BEFORE!

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS SCHEDULE

The Sgt.‐At‐Arms (SAA) shall mark the attendance sheet, input Guest Names, Visiting Rotarians and Make‐ups submitted by club members, as well as calculate the meeting percentage. You will also give the invocation when requested by the President. At the end of the meeting make sure the Secretary has the “Secretary’s Copy”.

In addition, the SAA shall also fill in the attendance details on the “Bulletin Editor’s Copy” and make sure the editor receives it by the end of the meeting.

The person who is responsible for any Ticket sales shall enter the cash details on the “Treasurer’s Copy”. They shall also collect the Happy Toonies and enter that information on the same sheet. At the end of the meeting they shall give the treasurer the tally sheet along with the cash in an envelope. There is a supply of banker’s envelopes in the tote box.
