Cambridge North Rotary Club's year-end BBQ was held on June 27, 2012 at the home of our gracious hosts, Fred and Charlene Schiedel.  Club members were excited to see Ken and Jayne Slade after a successful heart transplant for Ken. There was a changing of the guard between our outgoing President, Don Dagget (now Past-President) and our new President, Doug Cameron.  Don thanked many people and announced this year's Rotarian of the Year award as our club Secretary-for-life, Jim Dippel.  Congratulations Jim - the club members could not be more enthusiastic in their support!  Also, with an excellent presentation by David Mitten, the club presented very deserving Paul Harris Fellows to each of Glen Nixon and Brian Fischer (see picture below).  This fellowship was named after Paul Harris who founded Rotary in 1905.  The symbolism in this recognition is to say thank you for making a difference in your community and in the lives of people in less fortunate situations throughout the world through the promotion of Rotary and its objects.
