Cambridge North Rotary Bulletin May 01,2019 (May 03, 2019)

OPENING CEREMONIES

President Mike brought the meeting to order and had Jody lead us in the National Anthem. After our requisite toast to Rotary and the country, Mike provided the invocation. We all resumed our conversations and waited in anticipation for our meals.

TABLE TALK

Table talk was extensive . As we discussed many topics - political / Basketball - the Titans were heading back to Newfoundland to play another game . Climate change the flooding in Bracebrige and Jody advised insurance rates are going to increase .

As Allan Fox was sitting at my table - he was speechless .

We looked outside at the golfers rubbing their hands to keep warm as they pretended to enjoy golfing .

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT

For attendance sorry I didn't get the report given to me and forgot to write it down .

There was no guests .

HAPPY-TOONIES

Larry had to leave early - but advised that he would be gone for the next 2 weeks visiting out West.

Also for the upcoming BBQ in June - that it would be open to bringing prospective people that

might be interested in joining Rotary in a more relaxed atmosphere .

Ken Denholm told us about his latest biking adventure on Mount Lemmon . He biked 26 miles starting at 3500 ft elevation

to 8000 ft elevation. Hope I got this right .

Well done Ken - I would need a few beers after that .

Mount Lemmon (O'odham: Babad Doʼag), with a summit elevation of 9,159 feet (2,792 m), is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains. It is located in the Coronado National Forest north of Tucson, Arizona,

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Superhero Run is approaching (Sun June 2), and Doug will be recruiting volunteers shortly.

Please keep this date in mind for our off site gathering - 29 May - bowling at Kingpin - bring your family .

NOTES:

The Sgt.‐At‐Arms shall mark the attendance sheet, input Guest Names, Visiting Rotarians and Make‐ups submitted by club members, as well as calculate the meeting percentage. You will also give the invocation when requested by the President. At the end of the meeting make sure the Secretary has the “Secretary’s Copy”.

In addition, the SAA shall also fill in the attendance details on the “Bulletin Editor’s Copy” and make sure the editor receives it by the end of the meeting.

The person who is responsible for any Ticket sales shall enter the cash details on the “Treasurer’s Copy”. They shall also collect the Happy Toonies and enter that information on the same sheet. At the end of the meeting they shall give the treasurer the tally sheet along with the cash in an envelope. There is a supply of banker’s envelopes in the tote box.
