Our Guest speaker was Dr. Camille Krause. Camille is a Naturopathic Dr. located I Cambridge. The good Dr. talked to us about the topic of maintaining our energy and how to improve our sleep. The most important part of her message is that we all require more Fat, Fibre, and Protein in our diets. and that we could all use more activities to help alleviate stress (ie: exercise or walks). The average adult requires between 20and 30 grams of protein on our diets (something most of us lack). An easy solution to the problem is to have a protein shake with your breakfast. Consuming foods rich in magnesium will help a good sleep as it assists in the creation of melatonin. A couple of other tricks to help a better sleep is to avoid alcohol prior to sleep.
